Behind the Scenes - The eBook

When I was at the Declare Conference in August, I purchased a blog review from the literary agent in attendance, Jessie Kirkland. When I picked up my review from her, I expected some critiques, some advice, maybe a helpful tip or two. What I didn't expect was a page of hand-written notes with ideas for eBooks, growing my platform and a conversation that would turn into a contract with her as my agent.

When Jessie first suggested I turn my Behind the Scenes series into an eBook, I doubted the idea. To be honest, I didn't know if I would even continue to offer it. The first month was strong - women linked up beautiful stories, opening their hearts and blogs to share the real stories of real life, the kind of stories we forget actually happen in the midst of the Pinterest-perfect, edited versions of ourselves. And then, interest started to wane. Fewer women joined. Other link-ups were started, life continued, and I wondered if I should continue.

Every time I thought about announcing that I was done with the link-up, someone would post on Twitter that they had their post ready and couldn't wait for Tuesday. New women would find the link up and want to join, or - if not join, interact in the comments.

So now....just over three months since that first idea was sparked at Declare, I have assembled this little eBook. In a few days it will be available free for all of you lovely readers who subscribe to my blog via email, a special little treat while I relaunch this site. In the meantime, will you join me in this space? Will you find a photo of your own & tell us the story, the one that happens behind the scenes? You - the brave ones who tell stories as naturally as breathing - you have created  a little community here. And I'm grateful for you.
